We offer support, repair and upgrades to all Apple Macintosh computers up to 7 years old. Our technicians have over 25 years of experience repairing Mac computers between them, so you can be confident of an accurate, fast and effective solution to your Mac issue, whatever it may be.

Apple Authorised Service Provider

As the northern rivers region’s sole Apple Authorised Service Provider, PowerMax has a fully equipped and qualified workshop for repairing Apple computers. Our experienced Apple Certified technicians can perform warranty repairs on all Apple products. We are proud that our locally owned business meets Apple’s exacting standards for an authorised service location. And most repairs can be performed here in our workshop for the fastest turnaround.

Find My Mac

Before submitting your Mac for service, Find My Mac and iCloud must be removed from the device before any service can be performed.

Find My Mac is a security feature which allows you to track your device if it is lost or stolen. When Find My Mac activated, someone needs your Apple ID and password to erase, reactivate or use your device.

If Find My Mac is disabled, your device can no longer be located, placed in Lost Mode, or remotely erased using or the Find My iPhone iOS app.

Apple provides instructions on how to remove your device from Find My Mac.

Backing up

It is strongly recommended that you maintain regular backups of your Mac to an external hard drive using the built in Time Machine software.

Before submitting your device in for service, please ensure your backups are complete and up to date.

In the event that you are unable to backup your Mac, we do offer a backup and restore service, assuming that your data is accessible at drop off.

To boot, we offer our customers a discounted tuition or service (for one hour) with every new Mac. You can use this to have a one-on-one macOS introductory lesson, or a data transfer.

Ongoing Support

For more involved things you’d like help with, book in for a one on one lesson/support session. $60 for half an hour, $100 for a full hour of assistance with everything from setting up your email to how to get the most from your new Mac, iPad or iPhone.


Bring us your unwell Mac, in- or out-of-warranty, and we’ll diagnose it for you and prepare you a quote of the repair cost. If the repair is coverable under warranty or consumer law, we will proceed to repair the device immediately so you can have it back in a day or two.

Please Note: Hardware diagnosis may incur a $88 fee for computers out-of-warranty.

We pride ourselves on our repair quality and also speed of turn around, so that you have your computer back sooner. All repairs, in- or out-of-warranty, are covered by a 90 day (repeat service) warranty. In-warranty Mac repairs are covered by consumer law repeat service coverage for an additional 36 months.


We recommend this service for every Mac once every 12 to 18 months. It costs $99 and it can often be completed the same day.

Issues that can be resolved via a software fix are not covered under warranty and may incur a charge. Our rates for software fixes and out of warranty hardware repairs are itemised below.
