Many hardware repairs can be covered free of charge under your complementary Apple limited warranty during the first year. For devices purchased in Australia, your consumer law rights cannot be excluded and will cover iOS devices for an additional year (24 months total).

Note that software repairs are not covered under warranty and may incur a charge.

Accidental damage can be covered under an AppleCare+ plan, which you can register on your device during the first month after purchase. You can buy AppleCare+ online here.

Time to repair

In some cases we are able to facilitate an in-store repair, for others the device may need to be sent to the Apple Repair Centre, located in Sydney. This process can take 5-10 business days. Depending on the warranty coverage and the issue with your iPhone, a loan phone may be available in the meantime. For more information on the loan phone program or for availability, please contact us directly.

Find My

Before submitting your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch for service, Find My must be removed from the device before any service can be performed.

Find My is a security feature which allows you to track your device if it is lost or stolen. When Find My is active, someone needs your Apple ID and password to erase, reactivate or use your device.

If Find My is deactivated, your device can no longer be located, placed in Lost Mode, or remotely erased using icloud.com/find or the Find My iOS app.

Apple provides instructions on how to remove your device from Find My.

Backing Up

It is strongly recommended that you maintain regular backups of your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer.

Before submitting your device in for service, please ensure your backups are complete and up to date.

In the event that you are unable to backup your iPhone, we do offer a backup and restore service for $120, assuming that your data is accessible at drop off.

iOS service rates

Issues that can be resolved via a software fix are not covered under warranty and may incur a charge. Our rates for software fixes and out of warranty hardware repairs are itemised below.

Battery Replacment

iPhone batteries are designed to last, but all batteries will eventually become exhausted and will no longer hold a full charge. If your iPhone requires a new battery, bring it in to PowerMax for an assessment and replacement, if necessary. See the list below for out of warranty pricing for iPhone batteries.

Damaged displays

As an Apple Authorised Service Provider, PowerMax Computers is able to facilitate the repair of an Apple device with display damage. Depending on availability of parts, this may be a same day repair, or the device may need to be sent to Apple’s iPhone Repair Centre in Sydney. Repairs can take up to 5-10 working days to complete; and the replacement display is covered under consumer law repeat service coverage for a further 2 years.

Out of Warranty iPhone Replacement

Damaged or out of warranty iPhones are still serviceable under Apple’s out of warranty replacement policy. Devices can be exchanged for an identical model of the device for an exchange cost. This service is subject to an inspection by our technicians.
